WORK.
The Journal Times
My current work has me overseeing the daily, countywide newspaper in Racine, Wisconsin. I took this role with a desire to transition out of television news and into the print side of the industry, as this is where my studies in college focused. A day consists of overseeing story assignments, editing, producing the paper, managing our online presence, and helping establish our relationship with the Racine community.
CBS Colorado/KCNC-TV
I settled into my role as the producer of the 10 p.m. news just as 2020 was picking up steam, which means my newscasts covered everything from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to a historic wildfire season in Colorado to all-things 2020 presidential election. You can find a newscast here. I have also served as the executive producer of a 30-minute documentary on the impacts of the Cameron Peak Fire, and I served as the managing editor of the “Elevating Black Voices” series in 2023. We won a Heartland Emmy for our wildfire impact documentary.
WISC-TV/News 3
As a producer for News 3 This Morning, I produced the station’s longest newscast, helping cover major local news events including the Sun Prairie explosion, historic flooding, the Wisconsin legislature’s lame-duck sessions, and the Jayme Closs case. You can take a peek at my newscasts here. I also assisted with our website and social media presence.
